Social Media Volunteer
Ignite Youth (formerly Ignite Trust) is a dynamic charity that works with at-risk and vulnerable young people (aged 11- 25) from disadvantaged backgrounds. We offer programmes which engage young people, build positive relationships and mutual support to empower individuals and to raise expectations for the future to transform lives.
Ignite is based at Holy Trinity Church in Wealdstone and as an organisation it maintains a strong Christian ethos, however we are faith based and not faith biased.
As a volunteer you will be an integral part of the organisation, helping to enrich the lives of our young people through fun, interactive activities.
All volunteers will be subject to our safer recruitment processes, which will include undergoing a disclosure and barring check and the provision of two referees.
Tasks:
The role of the social media volunteer is about communicating externally and building relationships with our stakeholders (including our young people) by;
1. Keeping our social media and channels updated
2. Encourage others to comment on our posts and share them with others
3. Increase the number of people following our posts on our website, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc.
4. Building the Ignite brand
Skills, Experience & Qualities Required
• Has some experience of using social media, marketing and/or promotion
Has experience of using social media and other online tools to generate interest in a business or project
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and abide by GDPR and Safeguarding regulations
• Good communication skills - written and spoken
• Ability to initiate, organise, prioritise and complete projects
• Able to handle multiple-task responsibilities and interruptions
Training & Induction
• The volunteer will receive an induction to the organisation prior to starting
Support and Supervision
• The Executive Director will be the direct supervisor for this role
• The volunteer will receive ongoing support from their supervisor
