About Organisation

RDN is a local community-based charity providing a diverse range of support and activities for disadvantaged people of all ages, mainly from BAMER communities, focussing on all sections, particularly those cohorts which face greatest disadvantage and require our support most of all e.g. young people, females etc. Main Activities: RDN currently delivers a range of community based activities including the following:- (1) Youth Programmes: RDN supports young people aged 13 – 18 years through activities which include training, mentoring, befriending and general development. (2) Conservation, Nature & Horticultural Programme: RDN has an allotment whereby we support people of different ages to grow produce, learn about horticulture and integrate / develop skills e.g. we are developing an inter-generational ‘growing club’ using the allotment as a medium. (3) Supplementary Education: RDN develops tuition, tailored to suit different levels and objectives of students e.g. we ensure children develop core skills in English, Maths and ICT as a foundation for their educational progression. (4) Health: RDN works with BAMER communities to improve health e.g. we deliver activities to support people living with HIV, older people and generic health promotion activities e.g. ‘healthy diet for healthy living’.
