Dragons FC

Dragons FC is a grassroots community-led football club with charitable status, and an emphasis on valuing education and training.

Founded in 2001, the Club has grown to considerable size and runs 16 squads from Under 10s right through to Seniors, providing professional football training and competitive matches to over 300 youths and young adults. We have 5 youth girls teams, 8 youth boys teams and 3 senior teams. Our Senior Firsts play in the Premier Division of the Middlesex County Football League - a promotion away from Step 6 of the National League System (NLS).

The Club’s ethos is that "nobody should be prevented from playing football because they cannot afford it". There are no mandatory subscription fees to become part of the Club and its community. The Club is financed from generous voluntary donations from parents and others across the wider community, together with grants from organisations such as the John Lyon’s Trust and the Grove Trust. Kensington Dragons' vision is to promote a harmonious, integrated community through physical outdoor activity and education.

Parallel to this, the Club runs an Education Programme to give players and others the opportunity to gain formal Football Association qualifications. These include, but are not limited to, FA Coaching, FA Refereeing, FA Coaching Disabled Players, FA Coaching Blind Players and FA Adult Mentoring. Since 2015, the Club has awarded over 200 qualifications, in addition to those in Safeguarding and First Aid.

Our Education Officer and team also plan regular coaches conferences and managerial meetings for the continuous professional development of the Club's staff, as well as careers evenings, skills-in-industry workshops and social events for members and the wider community - which were successfully moved to Zoom during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Through football, education and social events, the Dragons provide opportunities for the young population and next generation of social leaders.
